I am a special education teacher, and I am interested in learning more about the Son-Rise program, even if it ends up being just for my own professional development and not for use in a classroom. Have there been any scientific studies showing the positive effects that Son-Rise can have on a child diagnosed with autism or mental retardation? If so, where can I find them? Can the program cause any negative side effects? What are the specific similarities and differences between Son-Rise and applied behavior analysis? Could a program be created as a combination of the two teaching methods? Has anyone tried applied behavior analysis with their child and not had positive results, then switched to Son-Rise and had much more positive results? I would like to know more about the program because I am curious and also so I will be able to answer questions that the parents of students in my class might ask me. Thank you for any help you can offer!
