Yea to all of the amazing children who are beginning to open up to Christmas in the way we like to enjoy it! And yea to all of the families who lovingly helped them do so! We're all cheering for you guys!

We had a wonderful Christmas. We took our longest car trip ever as a family, traveling way north to Minnesota to visit my sister. I was so proud of my entire family. Six days in a car and still very respectful, happy and loving towards each other! Curty thoroughly enjoyed the trip and all of his presents. He opened each one happily and took time to play with each of them before opening another. He demonstrated some very new, more involved symbolic and fantasy play that was so fun to watch and join in. He partied with 23 other people on Christmas Day in a tiny house -- alternating watching football with the men, to listening to rock music and watching the teens play computer games, to wandering through the mass of people. Towards the end of the week, he did get a little over stimulated so needed more time to himself but did so on his own and then returned to the group fairly quickly. My favorite part was when we were visiting my mother-in-law's house on the way home. She had bought a Playstation Game for her other grandkids who insisted it was the only thing they liked to play. Rather than appreciating her effort, they complained that she didn't get the right games. Curty jumped right in with her and asked if she'd show him how to play. She did and he not only enjoyed playing but thanked her. So, she packed up the Playstation and games and gave them to him, plus took him to the store to buy him the games the other grandkids insisted were the only fun ones. Does he know how to get what he wants or what?
