: hi everyone...we are going to take my 4 year old daughter to the dentist...i discovered that 2 of her teeth in the back have huge holes in them. she's never been to the dentist and never would let us brush her teeth. she uses the tooth brush on her front teeth only but never the back ones. one time when she was laughing and her mouth was open very wide, i looked in there and saw those teeth. so we're going to the dentist tommorrow and i'm sure she'll need fillings. i would greatly appreciate any comments/suggestions regarding this topic. please enlighten me :) :) thanks guys, ola

hi....just wanted to let you know that my father, brother, and sister are all dentists and we feel the same fears. since it is my family though it is easier for them to understand how we want the visit to go. the dentist i think is the key. if the dentist understands and is patient with your child and you, you've got it made. i would definitely talk with the dentist and staff first. the more comfortable they are keeps you comfortable and your child has more chances of even liking the dentist. ok well, "liking it" could be stretching it - there is 8 kids in our family and i dont remember us really liking it :) good luck - i hope your dentist is very loving and understanding.....love, jamie
