: If she were one of my volunteers, I'd happily answer her questions and have a full discussion debate on it if she wished and provide any info she wanted but would ask her to not continue working with my child until she could become comfortable with the program. I'm not trying to be disagreeable here but the folks working with our children need to believe in the program we choose and our children's potential rather than trying to go against it.
I can understand why you wouldn't want to have a volunteer who was not in agreement with the program you choose, but why do you mention that in the same breath as not believing in the children's potential?
I don't think Samantha has said anything to imply that she doesn't believe in autistic children's potential.
Personally, I'm not comfortable with the Options program as a whole either; although I agree very much with some elements of it, there are also elements I strongly disagree with (as you've probably noticed from some of my previous posts ...). But that doesn't mean that I don't believe in (or want to go against) autistic children's potential!
