: hi everyone...we are going to take my 4 year old daughter to the dentist...i discovered that 2 of her teeth in the back have huge holes in them. she's never been to the dentist and never would let us brush her teeth. she uses the tooth brush on her front teeth only but never the back ones. one time when she was laughing and her mouth was open very wide, i looked in there and saw those teeth. so we're going to the dentist tommorrow and i'm sure she'll need fillings. i would greatly appreciate any comments/suggestions regarding this topic. please enlighten me :) :) thanks guys, ola

Hi Ola!

Kate and I spoke about this during our recent outreach. She said it would be a good idea to have Mitch's teeth checked too. He has always chewed on his toothbrush with his back teeth and occasionally will let me brush his front teeth. However, he grinds his teeth quite a bit which brings up the concern over the enamel. Kate recommended that I spend some time with the dentist explaining how I wanted things to go (don't force him into the chair or make him do things he doesn't want to do). She said I might try having him sit in my lap in the chair or take all his favorite ism toys to distract him. Not sure this would work and don't have any immediate plans to take Mitch. Hope it goes well for Maggie! Let me know!!!

Love, Betsy
