: : : How many staff members (teachers) do they curently have working for them? >>

: They are very busy so I'd suggest a call to the Son-Rise staff secretary to get this information rather than by e-mail.
:
: : Where does all the money that the parents spend for the different programs go to?

: Paying for room and food, which is included in all programs, teachers, materials, facilatator's time, upkeep of the Institute, etc. Basically, where money would go for any similar program.

: : Just a thought question: WHat do you all think about this?

: I think you are getting too wrapped up in the dollar figures here. If you compare the cost of what you get for this program with any other service you'd get from professionals who help special-needs children, you'd find it comparable or less. We've paid thousands of dollars to such professionals and gotten far less.

: : To those of you who are interested, Ihave decided to narrow down my term-paper and see what the motives of the Son-Rise program are. How do you feel?

Hello, Samantha
I'm Lisa from Adelaide, South Australia...I'm fairly new to this message board, having only just"discovered" son-rise through the internet a month ago.
I can't comment about the programmes having not attended one but this I can tell you. I emailed the option institute withgreat enthusiasm, having found a philosophy of life that I was comfortable with. I was offered a free phone consultation( I paid for the call) and as a result of my chat with Jonathan Levy I was offered a part scholarship to attend a son- rise start up in 2000. All this to a person they haven't met, living on the other side of the world.....but the greater miracle is this..the scholarship affirmed me so much that within the week of my receiving it my autistic daughter Francesca ( then still in nappies) became toilet trained. She called me Mummy from her own free will, she started using the terms "I" and "YOU" appropriately and we all went out as a family for the first time in ages. Significant change has occurred through the power of belief.
The son-rise programme would not be in existence
if the Kaufmans were only interested in money because they would never have been able to free Raun from his world

Hope this helps you

Lisa Maeorg

: While any institution or company wants to be finanacially successful, I truly believe that everyone at the Option Institute really wants to help people. I am really sorry to hear that you have taken this focus for your term paper. It seems you have missed the point. Getting wrapped up in the money side really does a dis-service to our special children and the families who have worked so hard to help them.
: Gaylen
