: How do you discipline a child with PDD when they don't show any regard to how sad the action makes you? The usual "Time Out" method doesn't work. It's like he doesn't connect the punishment to the act and how it made you feel. We try to reinforce the positive behavior and that does work, but unlearning bad behavior that the PDD child likes to do is proving to be very difficult. Any suggestions?

I'm going out on a limb here and guess you have not gone to The Son-Rise program. If I am wrong, I apolagize. Therefore my suggestion to you would be to go! You will learn so much that you can't get from books/tapes. Now that I said that, I would also suggest that you order a few of the books/tapes that Option has available. They are great reminders to me of how/who/what I want to be for myself, my family and my son. That may not be what you asked for, but that is where you will find your answer.
Bram
