You can order the Samonas CDs and get a good protocol written for your child through Kay Ness. She is a neurodevelopmentalist who has been trained in Samonas. She's in the US but could probably do it through e-mail or phone. Email her atOr, perhaps she could direct you to someone who is trained in your country.

Samonas can be done with either headphones or speakers but the speaker program takes alot longer (hours of listening a day) and doesn't work as well. However, I have heard of some kids who did very well with it on speakers and then were able to tolerate the headphones.

We use headphones. When we began I didn't think that would be possible since we'd worked on headphones unsuccessfully for over a year. Either the timing was right or the stuff we did to help him get used to them was what he needed. Basically, right before he finally accepted them, we did some detoxifying of his system to get rid of heavy metals and started treating his allergies. (You'll want to do this with whatever auditory method you use because they can really affect its success). We also did the Trigeminal exercise I detailed in an earlier post (light tickling of face, ears and head for 1 minute, followed by a pressure touch of those areas for another minute -- done three times a day). Then, we worked up to the headphones starting with just wearing them and listening to funny things on tapes for a second, then two seconds, and longer and longer. At first the volume had to be super low -- almost inaudiable to me but we were able to increase the volume a bit. He still needs it pretty low. It took several weeks but then we were able to do music. He didn't do well with music until we started the Samonas. Samonas is nice music and he seems to like it better than any other music. All the while we explained why we needed to do headphones -- help him not have hurt ears. The first month of Samonas, we did alot of headphones on and off. He'd wear them a few minutes, take them off and we'd put them right back on. He did ok with this and finally left them on. Occassionally he'd fight it -- then we'd turn the music way down and just work through it.
