Our Little boy is 6 years old and currently in mainstream school with most of his time covered by an individual 1:1 teaching assistent in addition to interested and supportive school staff.I,ve just been to the UK start up in November which was lovely and has filled me with lots of ideas for using sonrise at home...hopefully building up hours slowly from small beginnings. One area Joe has difficulties with that we are at are rather at a loss about is Sound Sensitivity...quite a few noises make him cover his ears .We understand that AIT claims to be helpful for this but the process of doing it sounds like it could be intrusive and unpleasant[as well as expensive].. also our Paediatrician who is generally receptive to complimentary/alternative approaches to Autism feels the science behind it and evidence regarding it is 'woolly'.We would love to hear from anyone with personal experience of it..did it work or not? Did it upset your child having it done? What did it actually involve? Any other ways People have found to help with Sound sensitivity?.........Also...we are thinking David[my husband]might be able to get to the STart Up In Holland....We are thinking it would be much easier to make Sonrise work if he has been to a start-up too...Any comments??
