: How about conveying the message that you know he can use the potty by himself and have some practice runs/scripting of what to do if he needs to go at night or in the morning? You could make a game of "potty wake-ups" and create a habit of the minute he wakes up, he heads for the potty.

: Then, give him the choice between wearing a diaper to bed and being a big boy wearing underwear but also having the responsibility of cleanup if he has an accident. Put plastic sheets on the bed to make clean-up easier. If he keeps having accidents, you could give him the choice of wearing a diaper or sleeping only on the plastic and cleaning up any messes.
