Hello all,

Since learning about the Son Rise program just a few weeks ago (from the Women's Weekly article) I've become interested in possibly keeping my 4 year old son home from pre-school this year and working with him. My husband and I discussed it last night.
I love the philosophy, and although I'm not "officially" doing the program, I've tried things like "mirroring" his behaviors, and had some very positive reactions from him.
My question is this; May I hear from parents with children who have chromosomal abnormalities who have done the program? (Or volunteers, teachers, etc., who've worked with kids with that diagnosis). My son has what is called an "unbalanced translocation" involving his 2nd and 22nd chromosomes. I'm curious to hear from parents (or others) of kids with say, Downs Syndrome, fragile X, or any chromosomal abnormality, on how the program has helped. The one "problem" my husband has is most of the letters from parents whose kids have really responded to the program have been from parents whose kids are/were autistic, and we're both wondering about how other kids respond.

Thanks in advance,

Eileen
