I am a Son-Rise Mom and have a special 5 year old son. We have been doing our program for one year and never had an issue with locking the door. In fact, as Jonathan states, the child adapts. Danny only wants out of the playroom if the person in there is not comfortable with him or the room. When I go in there with him, HE locks the door, almost as a way of saying "No one come in. This is my time to be with Mommy. I always wondered why people worried about locking the door, but it never has been a problem for us. Another reason to celebrate Danny!
