: My name is Ana Tejeda and I took the son-rise start up program to be able to help my 6 yrs old autistic son. My son's name is Jeremy, he is a wonderful beautiful little boy.
: I'm looking forward to take my son to the Intensive program at the Option Institute, but would like to know if there is anyone with some ideas that would help me raide some funds for the Son rise Intensive unit. I am also looking for some volunteers that would like to be part of our son rise program with my son Jeremy.
: I would very much appreciate any help I could get.
: Thanks a lot to everyone.

Hi, Ana. We raised quite alot a money by having an auction evening. We wrote to local companies explaining what we were trying to do, and asking if they had anything they would donate for us to auction. We got things from football clubs, signed footballs, shirts, pictures, that sort of thing. Also the local airbase gave us a ride in a genuine tornado simulator. The things that weren't such good things to auction (chocolates, perfume etc) went in a raffle which we did on the door as people arrived. We got some bands to perform for nothing, we got the venue for nothing, and sold tickets for it. The army helped us organise a day where people got teams together and spent the day doing various things, assault course, shooting range etc. People got people to sponsor them to spend the day in the army. It took alot of organising, but this turned out to be a big fund raiser. I hope this has given you some ideas, and I wish you the best of luck with everything, Kerry.
