: We have used exactly what you are thinking of using. It's very duarble and as Kelly suggested, ask everyone to take their shoes off before entering the playroom. The good thing about these interlocking dense foam squares is that if one should get damaged, you just turn it upside down and/or move it to a corner of the roon which has 'less traffic'. The only thing is they need to be washed with hot soapy water and left outdoors for about a week just to ensure that they are not letting off gases etc... which may disturb your child.

Good Luck!

I wanted to get some advice on flooring for the playroom. Due to a couple of factors (width of room and tile floor), I am having difficulty with putting in the carpet padding/vinyl flooring combination. I am looking into putting in dense foam interlocking mats in a gray color. These mats are used in preschools and exercise rooms. They do not absorb water and are very durable, soft, shock absorbent, yet firm enough for play with cars, etc. Has anyone else tried this type of flooring? Any other suggestions? Any help is much appreciated.
