however, i am now enacting as john's aide, in the class. and have observed the following;
one extremely overwhelmed child, one who is motivated and really seems to want to be there, but his body is not working in cooperation.
yesterday i would say he was 95-98 percent exclusive, but as he was doing some seat work, would occasionally glance up and watch the children with interest. first circle time way too much for him, as this only happens on monday's would probably juggle john's time in the kindergarten room.
however today, he seemed more present, but just incredibly overwhelmed, crying during center time, over having to share. circle time was better, the teacher does alot of singing, john seems to enjoy that, doing hand movements to song with children. he sat through most of a book reading seems to enjoy that, than it was time for us to leave. (i am only bringing him for an hour or so)
so two days there, and my eyes are definitely open to what is going on. my thing, i can see he really wants to be there, how do we work with the just scrambled up, overwhelmed kid that i see, or is it time to bring him back home?
