I soo completely agree with you! A fresh slate and an open loving heart is the best to start with (in my opinion!). Kendra is a darling gal with a God given drive to help autistic children. Very mature for her age! I wish she lived closer to me, she'd be my #1 choice for a volunteer. Now if I could only talk her parents into moving to Sunny Southern California! hahaha
: Kendra,
: Send me a private e-mail with your e-mail address and phone number and I'll pass it on. It may also help to know how far you live from Sheffield. My e-mail is shakyes@aol.com.
: FYI -- very few people who volunteer in Son-Rise programs have experience with Son-Rise when they first start. Out of the 35+ volunteers we've had throughout the life of my son's program, only one had experience in another Son-Rise program and only four had experience working with special-needs children. Some of our best volunteers came to us with no experience but an open mind and desire to learn. : Gaylen
