Hi Chris,

It's great to hear about John!

We have had good experience having a one to one aide assigned to Nick. When the aide noticed that Nick is overloading, Nick gets to go outside and run around the playground. This really helps him to collect his thoughts. We have also had the aide either work in or come to our home to learn about our Son Rise Program. It is so difficult for the school district to hire people around here that we can also suggest who the aide is. The aide also participates and gets feedback when Gerd Winkler comes around.

There are so many advantages to having an aide. The aide can facilitate interactions between the kids, and pull John in to help out in an area he has expertise. We have always had a communication book, so we know what is going on in the classroom.

Hope this helps.

Doug
