Good for you Nice Lisa! Way to go for what you want and drop those walls of discomfort.
Early on in our program, I started tallying up the checklists in advance, put together a little newsletter that showed progress and info shared on checklists plus any info I wanted to share. In the meetings, we'd spend only about 5 minutes going over the important points and letting anyone add what they wanted to but then were free to do the more fun and exciting stuff.
Some of our best meetings involved someone role-playing an autistic person and folks taking turns trying to work with them. I'd put some situations in a hat and we'd draw them out. It was also a great way to illustrate things like how to be a language detective, not assume things, etc. Gaylen
