I think our goals for our children are to help them reach their fullest potential -- whatever that may be. For some, it is moving away from the autism label. For others, it's getting the most out of life while keeping many autistic traits (some of which can be pretty helpful in some careers and life situations:)). There is no way to tell up front where a child will go. But placing certain limitations on them or keeping an attitude that limits them will make it less likely that they will reach higher.
