Hello Krista. We started by showing the BBC video'I want my boy back' and interspersing comments through it then starting by only explaining in detail joining and eye contact..... then on the second occasion We then let our new volounteer watch or join us with Jo then leave them on their own for only 1o minutes at first then one of us went back to play and the other commentated whilst the other watched and ommentated we then built up time slowly. It does seem daunting at first. We then added one or two other issues toexplain after each subsequent session. We worked on the basis if we tried to explain everything at once it would be too daunting so settled with a few basics and the reassurance we could teach the rest.We emphasised that initially the aim is to form a connection with joining and eye contact as basic starting blocks.Good luck.I would love to read how it goes.Love Jeanie
