I would say from personal experience definetely yes. We did 'semi-sonrise'before we went on a start up. We also didn't set up a proper room for almost 2 years but applied the principles to the way we approached Robert and the results were amazing.
I would however having done son-rise with and without a room suggest you set up a playroom as best you can Even if it's just you're childs bedroom . You can stick the toys in a high shelf , paint the walls plain Get in a mirror and off you go. I think observing and joining is a really good place to start. Really trust you child and have fun!!
I would try to visit a family running a programme to get a feel for it and just carry on building 1 step at a time. I remember how I was so impatient to get things going yesterday if possible, but I also think looking back that I had to go through a grieving process which for me took about a year.
