: Noah has recently started doing this thing where he laughs uncontrollably as it seems about nothing in particular. It's a painful looking kind of laugh, like it overcomes him and he can't help it. I've tried ignoring it, acknowledging it, laughing with him, and yes, even telling him to stop. Nothing really seems to work. It really interferes with conversing with him or playing with him. Sometimes I wonder if it's a result of being nervous. Of course, I want him to laugh and be joyful but this is more maniacal laughter that real joyful laughter in response to something. Has anyone ever encountered this? What can I do? I'm really stuck on this one.
