Sharon,
Funny you sound a lot like me. I am the parent of an autistic child, and I learned and use the Son-Rise method to work with him.

I also preferred being alone to being around people. Sometimes I even think I may have social anxiety disorder in a mild form. I have waited tables as a way of forcing myself to interact with people I don't know. It helped me tremendously. There was a time when I found interacting with strangers or even people I knew very unsettling. I eventually learned that not all people are as critical of me as I thought they were.

Learning Son-Rise for my son also helped me overcome some of this anxiety. Maybe that is a reason you are drawn to it.
Love,
Jen
