Thanks to you all. I really felt a little blindsighted this time. Knowing that it's "normal" for him to act this way helps. I guess I should have mentioned that one of the tantrums was caused by a major change in scheduling at school and the other was over going to the bathroom(still a source of much woe around here). I tried to talk with him during the fits but he was inconsolible. I talked to him a little afterwards and we had some good hugging time. He was very matter of fact about how angry he'd been, but I couldn't get him to say anything about trying to hurt himself. It sounds awful, but I wonder if nearly drowning him while I was rinsing his eye out will be a deterent for him hurting himself in the future? I am trying to remain calm and remember that I am the mommy and as such, I can do anything!! :~) DeeAnn
