When Reyn was diagnosed the nuerologist gave me a list of behaviors common to autistic spectrum disorders. Reyn had several of them. He has since out grown some and grown into others. I know this is natural but it's hard to deal with sometimes. Just when you think you've gotten over one hurdle another one is just around the corner. He's been doing so well. His language and comprehension have improved so much and he hardly has any obsessive tendancies, but now he has unreasonable fears and has been trying to hurt himself when he's angry. I had to grab a pencil away from him that he was threatening to shove down his throat earlier in the week and today he purposely sprayed Lysol in his eye. Now he looks like someone's been beating him because I had to hold him down and try to rinse his eye for 15 minutes. I feel like someone's been beating me as well. I'm not sure what to do. I know that he's getting his way now and has achieved his goal--he'll get my undivided attention when he's throwing a fit because I can't ignore him and let him just ride it out and risk him hurting himself or someone else. I know he'll grow out of this, too, but I need a little support. Someone tell me something. Thanks, DeeAnn
