Hello. I went to UK start up[1 week for parents not children] in Nov 99 in Enfield just north of London which was very helpful....so much so that My husband then travelled to Holland in Jan 2000 for the start up there. Some parents managed to both go on the same course others like us had only one attend a course then the other attended another later. It really helped us even for me to just go......but was great for us just to be able to go.Jo was 5 years old when we went.It was nice in a way to attend different courses as we heard some different speakers and the 2 courses had slightly different feels as those attending were obviously different. There were parents at both who had travelled from a number of different countries. There is currently a sonrise child facilitator in the UK[temporarily I think].i do not know if she would have a slot to do a home visit for a day before she returns to USA but it might be worth ringing option to find out if you are interested. Also We learnt a lot from books/tapes even without going to startup.I hfound that the book'Sonrise the miracle continues',the tapes'special children special solutions' and the BBC video'I want my little boy back' were the most helpful for me and I think you can order them all through the institute although we got tour books through our local bookshop. If reading the sonrise brochure or reading/seeing/listening to the tapes/books seems right for your family I do not see that you could do other than gain insight and encouragement if you could manage to get yourself to an american start up.Best wishes to your family and your daughter.Jeanie
