One thing we learned about items in the room is to only have things in that you reall want to have in there. Try to think about things possibly getting used in ways you might not want. You cannot possibly anticipate all of these uses, so if you feel that you do not want to have something in after a session, then don't have it in there anymore. However, once something is in the room, and you begin to play with it than it really helps me to get excited about it, too. If you wind up with magic marker all over the place, it is an opprtunity to clean. It is very helpful to get totally absorbed in the present moment when you are playing, and not to be concerned about the future.

John, I really think that your questions will be best answered at the Start Up. If there is still room at the September Start Up, I really encourage you to find a way to be there. If you absolutely cannot go until December, the next best thing is to get all of the books, tapes and videos from the Institute regarding the Son Rise program. I found that the Son Rise and Happiness is a Choice books, the tapes Special Children/Special Solutions and the BBC video "I want my boy back" to be very effective in getting the attitude and explanation of why things are done like they are in the Son Rise Program. I would also encourage you to call the Institute and get as much help as you can by phone.

We have been doing our Program for about two years now, and I think we will be doing it for a while longer. I have found it to be the most powerful experience I have ever had. I have learned more about people during these last two years than I did during the rest of my life! You may not believe it now, but the Son Rise parents I talk to LOVE this program and how it has helped them and their kids.
