: Dear Clare, I don't think many would have been encouraged to do this kind of approach after seeing how the programme ended. We sat and watched it too, and I must admit, when we saw the remarkable progress made at first, and Alexander's own pleasure at doing so well, we began to wonder whether we were doing things the wrong way, but as the programme went on, we soon changed our views. We just felt so sad for him at the end, as he seemed no further forwards towards being able to make friendships or relationships. In fact, the mother spoke towards the end of it about her feelings of grieving for the child he would never be, and it seemed to me as if she was perhaps coming to terms with this approach not having been the success it had seemed at first. : Ditto on the above re channel 4 being unlikely to use a BBC programme, but maybe it is time for another family's story to be told? Clare, yours is pretty impressive.......got any useful video footage?! Julie.
Yes we have got video footage, before and during because we use in James's room cctv and we recorded from day one most of the sessions. Perhaps i'll get in touch with them, thank you.
