Dear folks,
Any suggestions on this one would be appreciated. Simon, Robert's(Robert is 5 ) older (8) non-austistic brother, really plays beautifully with him.Outside the playroom. My question is how can I help Robert understand that sometimes Simon doesn't want to play. We model this in the play room, that sometimes friends want to be on their own and that's ok they'll play again when they're ready.Simon warns Robert that play is going to finish soon so he's prepared. I give him alternatives like you can play with me or you can do something on your own , and if he chooses to throw a wobbly then That's OK with me and it's his choice and we all check our attitude. Any other thoughts suggestions greatly appreciated.
