Hi John! First of all, i like to say, that the discusion that was started because of your reply, really is very good to read. In the matter that i am still also are learning from it! It is nice to see so many people can tell their experiences, opinion etc, without judging anyone for their own. Dont you think so? I went to the start-up with a friend of mine. She has a son who now is 11 years of age. You could read a message of one of her volunteers. It is about "MATS" The progress her son made is really very good! He already has changed so much! If you like i could ask her if she wants to email you to tell you about him? And another mother i know? Her son is 14 now! What you thought, I also did before I did the start-up. Because Raun only was 1,5 yrs of age I thought the younger the better. But now I know it really does not matter. But I do think that you need a lot of fantasy and imagination when they do get older. I sometimes find it difficult to choose the right kind of toys. But because i have a younger daughter who now is 3 years I can make some kind of messure. I find that his interest lays in her age, when he really is almost 6 now. So that can help me choose the kind of playing for the playroom. Wich of course then will depend on my son, if he wants it or not. Before I started our own program his interest layed in childsplay of about 2 years the most. So he did made progress in that also! And that is also what i meant to say earlyer. If I offered him toys for a boy of 6? he mostly is not interested. And thats why i understand why he sometimes put something in his mouth, my youngest daughter also did that. I also think that at least you should consider the start-up. It will defenitely help yourself understand your son so much more! And after that? Who knows! But i also was very sceptical about it before i went. So i completely understand all you're saying! I wish you all the best! Warm regards, Yvette
