you know what? i've come to the point where i view all the different therapy approaches available to be very similar to all the different weight-loss programs out there--no one program will work for everyone,so you have to find the one that best fits your needs, and then adapt it so that it is truly an individualized program--one that meets the needs of your special little individual...and yes, i feel that it is best to let the child be the teacher--that is not to say that we should not challenge the child, but you'll know when your child is ready, and i think on some level we all know what our special children are capable of...i have tried not to become too complacent with what skills my son has mastered and yet at the same time, i don't want to set the bar too high....i've come to think that he'll achieve greatness-just on his time-schedule :) hope this helped....
