Just a small reaction to John. It sounds like you are afraid of what your child does when he grows up. But you could also think: The child is for example age 6, and wants to do things for age 6. Already teaching him how to shave? My son Remon loves shaving foam. It feels great on his tummy, his face and his hands, I can rub it all over him and that way we have very much body contact! Only the fact that he is enjoying it so much is enough reason for me to give it to him. Of course he sometimes puts a little in his mouth. But he is not like my daughter, and also he lately wants to smell and taste everything that he gets his hands on. Smells oke? than probably it also taste good, he must think. I completely understand that! And when he gets more understanding, and somewhere in the future he gets beard grow? Then the time has come to learn him how to shave.
Letting him enjoy, and play, i think, is now more important than the essential basics he needs to now when he is an adult. Isnt the playroom, about letting him see how wonderfull everything can be? Off course I dont say they should eat everything... but a little shaving foam wont kill them. If you should see what Remon sometimes eat.. your hair probably would turn grey in a second, dogbiscuits, catbiscuits, gardenflowers(not poisoned) I thought of that before I put them in my garden, grass, swimmingwater, He never is sick. And he just, like any other kid wants to taste everything now. But never the less I keep my eye on him all the time. As long as it is not live-treatening.
