Hi

As far as I am also aware there isn't alot of published scientific papers about Son-rise. Before we started our programme I got the NAS in the UK to do a literature search.A professional called Rita Jordan actually spent time at the Institue and also wrote a few papers comparing Options to ABA. I would be more than happy to share her finding with you and send you a copy of her papers just e-mail me.

On a personnal note we have kept very detailed data on Robert since we started which has given us real credibility with sceptical professionals. Give them a figure and it becomes real- I worked as a hospital Dietitan for many years and I know how much power a actual number holds.Robert's progress across the board is N shaped. He has a leap forward a plateau a backwards before
he is ready to go forward again. Some eg of progress 18mnths ago to present day.
Eye contact- (a significant look for more than3-4sec) 4 to 70/100
Speech (sen. of more than 3/4 words)
2/3 to 80/120
Screaming up to 200 aday now 0/20

I also know of a PHD student surrently evaluating the sonrise program

love

Anna

: I am a special education teacher, and I am interested in learning more about the Son-Rise program, even
: if it ends up being just for my own professional development and not for use in a classroom. Have there
: been any scientific studies showing the positive effects that Son-Rise can have on a child diagnosed with
: autism or mental retardation? If so, where can I find them? Can the program cause any negative side effects?
: What are the specific similarities and differences between Son-Rise and applied behavior analysis? Could a
: program be created as a combination of the two teaching methods? Has anyone tried applied behavior
: analysis with their child and not had positive results, then switched to Son-Rise and had much more positive
: results? I would like to know more about the program because I am curious and also so I will be able
: to answer questions that the parents of students in my class might ask me. Thank you for any help you can
: offer!
