Experienced child facilitator available in Bristol/Bath area

Postby Jono » Wed Jun 22, 2011 11:54 am

Hi! My name's Jono, I'm 30, I have 12 years' experience working as a child facilitator on various different Son-Rise Programmes, and am now looking for new families to work with in the Bristol / Bath area, after I move down there in July.

I have previously worked with children ranging in age from 3 to 19, have been on three Intensive programmes at the Autism Treatment Center of America, and have spent six months practicing Son-Rise in Kenya, working with many different kids and their families, and training up the staff of a special school in Nairobi. I also have extensive experience of observing, giving feedback, dialoguing etc. References from previous families gladly supplied!

I'm moving to the area to begin a part-time MA at Bath Spa University, and am hoping to fill the rest of my time with Son-Rise, so I have plenty of time available! So if you're in the area, or know of someone who is, do please get in touch!

Best,
Jono

Hello Jono,

We attended Son-Rise Start-Up in December 2009 and we have a son with Aspergers Syndrome, high functioning autism. He is recently being reintroduced into the schooling system and has a few challenges on returning home at 3:50pm - like frustration, anxiety etc, and winding up his siblings! Edward loves swimming, tennis and he would love to play 1-1 board games and it would be great to get a bit of interaction going between two people. Edward is highly intelligent but he just needs that extra bit of support.
If you feel that you are able for this kind of a challenge 2-3 times a week for an hour or so in the afternoon then let we would like to talk to you.
Edward is 13 1/2 and is a very big lad.

James & Melanie
