Physically aggressive autistic boys

Physically aggressive autistic boys

Postby librarywizard » Wed Jan 25, 2012 3:15 pm

Hi,
My son Sean is 9 years old, autistic, ADHD, OCD, and does not speak at all. His OCD has gotten worse recently, and he has become physically aggressive again when he gets frustrated. When I picked him up yesterday from his Special Olympics practice, he had been seperated from the rest of the class because he pulled a table out of the wall (it was bolted to the wall in the gym). His coaches had been trying to stop him from engaging in unsafe behaviors (playing with electrical sockets, trying to open the fuse box), and when they told him to stop, he pulled the table out of the wall. I am exhausted, I don't know what to do with him anymore.

I am a single mother, my husband committed suicide in 2003. My son is surrounded by women most of the day. I would like him to handle his frustations better (without getting physically aggressive). Can someone give me adice please?
Thanks,
Anne

The links seem to be inactive. Could you please list the links regarding the aggressive behavior?

Thank you,
Claire

Hi Claire,

I'm just a mom on a Son-Rise journey, so not really much help to you. But I happened to come across the links you are asking for so I thought I'd just post them here:
