Autism Training Program Topics Include:

Helping your child relate to others
No matter what level of development your child is at, this program can help you to connect deeply with your child and to build meaningful social interaction. We will give you the autism resources you need to generate within your child a sincere delight in human interaction so that your child initiates communication and interaction. You will learn how to help your child move beyond repetitive “stimming” behaviors without fighting these behaviors (it's easier than you might think). We will give you strategies for increasing eye contact, a pivotal step for learning and interaction. We believe that your child is capable of sincere affection and expressions of joy and caring, and we will show you how to encourage this on an ongoing basis.

Motivating and teaching your child
Every child has a right to be educated by someone that believes in him or her. Every parent wants their child to be able to say what he wants, express love and take care of himself. We believe with a certainty that your child can learn if he is highly motivated. In this program, you will learn how to find your child's motivations and interests. You will learn how to turn these into dynamic, customized learning experiences so that your child can learn and acquire the skills necessary for success in school and in life—from using the toilet or increasing attention span to reading a book or cooperating with others.

Speech and language development
Regardless of whether your child is using language or not, there are ways we can help you to help your child increase his/her communication skills. You'll learn to implement functional strategies for increasing verbal communication that will help your child interact, make requests and express himself. Whether your “child” is 3 or 23, we do not believe it is ever “too late” for your child to learn to communicate.

Capable leadership of your program
If you're like most parents we work with, your life is a juggling act. Having ongoing assistance helps you (by covering hours with your child) and your child (by varying who is teaching your child). In this program, you'll learn how to recruit and train a support team—with confidence. We can help you to utilize continual education, training and community support to maintain your program's effectiveness and success. We will also address everyday issues such as how many hours to run your program, how to vary your child's day and how to adapt your program to meet your family's needs.

Creating an optimal learning environment
Your child is capable of great learning in an environment that is comfortable, safe and free from over-stimulation. In this program, we'll show you how to construct an ideal educational environment. We can help you find and filter out nearly all of the most common distractions, many of which you may not even realize are affecting your child's learning. Also, you will learn how to eliminate the push-pull control battles that inhibit useful interactions. We'll show you how to use this special learning environment to maximize your child's development and participation while making your life easier and less chaotic.

Decisive and useful handling of challenging behaviors
Every parent and teacher struggles with certain things that their child does. We will teach you how to help your child to find different behaviors and more useful ways of communicating. In addition, you will learn practical techniques for preventing these behaviors before they happen. This makes day-to-day life a lot easier—for you and your child.

Capitalize on day-to-day learning opportunities
We can help you to become very effective at teaching your child during everyday activities. Meals, bath time, car rides, bedtime and trips present many opportunities to help your child to learn and grow without taking away from the trip or activity. You'll learn to utilize these experiences for your child's maximum benefit.

Attitudinal training and empowerment
For many, having a child with developmental difficulties and running a program to help him/her can feel very challenging. However, we believe that you are the most important force in your child's life. That makes taking care of you—and helping you take care of yourself—a major priority for us. You will have specialized, ongoing instruction in an attitude that feels peaceful, nonjudgmental, optimistic and hopeful. We will inspire you to overcome obstacles that may sometimes feel insurmountable. You will have opportunities to talk through your concerns and find answers. Whether it is stress management or time management, we can help you to care for yourself so that you can best care for your child.

"Mommy, I love you"

Autism SupportAt 2 years old Lucas was diagnosed as severely Autistic. He showed symptoms of autism such as no eye contact and limited speech. His parents, Adam and Luzmary felt like their son’s progress was a dead end. With no connection at all with their son they felt like they were raising a robot.

Adam and Luzmary found The Son-Rise Program – a potential cure for autism and an alternative autism treatment program to the behavioral methods they had used before - to be simple and easy to use compared to other treatment for autism they had previously tried. The Son-Rise Program has helped Lucas to understand his feelings better. He’s become truly interested in other people and is now interested in conversation with others. Lucas can appreciate the people in his life so much more since beginning his Son-Rise Program.

Parent Reviews and Autism Journey Letters:

"By the age of 2, our son, began showing signs of Autism and became increasingly withdrawn.

It became difficult to take him out as he would throw tantrums for no apparent reason and scream and scream. We could not effectively communicate to him what was safe or dangerous; he didn't seem to understand. Specialists then diagnosed our son with Autism, and gave us a hopeless prognosis. We discovered the Autism Treatment Center of America. The impact that their Son-Rise Program made on my family is profound. By the end of the first week, Liam had asked his first question, talked in his sleep for the first time and played purely for pleasure. Today, he has developed into such an enthusiastic communicator. He exhibits an imagination that often leaves us and strangers awed. He has progressed in all aspects to such an extent that he now attends his local mainstream primary school.
The best indicator of his progress is that professionals visiting the school with the intention of examining Liam were unable to find the 'autistic child' and asked for assistance!"

"My 16-year-old son and family were in a crisis when we first heard about The Son-Rise Program.

He displayed symptoms of Autism and was having numerous seizures, becoming aggressive at school and was very unhappy.

Fourteen months later, with the benefit of the parent-training program taught at the Autism Treatment Center of America, Tyler is so happy. His conversation skills have developed incredibly, his seizures have been reduced from every 5 days to as long as 6 weeks apart! He gives spontaneous hugs, talks about his feelings, has developed a great imagination and is more comfortable in groups and new situations. We are so thankful to have found a way to help Tyler."

~ Gail P., Canada

Autism Support Webinars:

If you want your child to want to interact with you and be really motivated to learn, then take a look at this webinar where Bryn Hogan, Executive Director of the Autism Treatment Center of America™, provides a brief introduction to The Son-Rise Program Start-Up. Bryn explains how coming to the three separate one-week Son-Rise Program training courses offered on our beautiful campus in the heart of the Berkshires and also in the UK can give you all the Autism resources that you need in order to be able to help your child through this loving and accepting alternative Autism treatment program.

Autism programsAutism recovery is possible! Raun Kaufman, Director of Global Education of the Autism Treatment Center of America, introduces us to techniques and tools you can use immediately to help your child with challenges such as Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorders and Asperger’s Syndrome. He explains that there is in fact a potential cure for Autism while giving positive Autism strategies in order to be able to best help your child from the starting point of truly accepting where they are right now.

Son-Rise Program/ABA Want to figure out if this is the best Autism solution for your child? This amazing three-part webinar compares and contrasts The Son-Rise Program with Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) as potential treatments for Autism for your child. Raun Kaufman, the Director of Global Education of the Autism Treatment Center of America, talks about how The Son-Rise Program uses very different principles from those of ABA in that it does not try and get children to conform to a world that they don’t understand, but truly accepts them where they are while still wanting more for them. He explains that Autism Spectrum Disorders are not behavioral disorders, but social and interactional disorders that are usually treated with a behavioral approach.

Autism Support Show your child that you love them and that you want to be close to them through amazing Autism strategies shared in this webinar. You'll meet Barry Neil Kaufman and Samahria Lyte Kaufman, the originators of The Son-Rise Program. You'll also meet Raun Kaufman, the original Son-Rise Program child, now fully recovered from Autism and CEO of the Autism Treatment Center of America who shares how Autism recovery is possible.
