program are taught by and work alongside the foremost
professionals in The Son-Rise Program®,
receiving rigorous and comprehensive training as well
as working directly with children and families at our
treatment center. Graduates of our professional certification
programs have gone on to create rewarding careers in
private practice, while others have accepted staff positions
as part of our elite teaching corps.

This intensive training program teaches
students to work directly with children and adults of
varying diagnoses, ages and abilities. Child Facilitators
are educated in the direct application of treatment
and methodology within the customized environment of
The Son-Rise Program®
playroom. Child Facilitator training encompasses a wide
range of respectful educational and training methods
as well as the opportunity to work with children from
diverse cultures, backgrounds and countries. Graduates
of this program are certified to work with children
and adults in Son-Rise Program®s
anywhere in the world.

Son-Rise Program® Teacher Certification For those who wish to take their abilities
and skills to the next level, we offer this program
for graduates of our child facilitator program. Son-Rise Program® Teachers
are the foremost professionals in teaching and applying
The Son-Rise Program®
. Certified teachers are not only equipped to teach
all aspects of The Son-Rise Program®
to parents and professionals. Our teachers can work
with an entire family and support team and are frequently
called upon to lead outreach programs in homes throughout
the U.S. and abroad. By working with families from all
over the world at our center, our teachers extend their
influence around the globe as Son-Rise Program®
participants bring what they learned back to their communities.

of Son-Rise Program®
CHILD FACILITATOR TRAINING
Since 1983, The Son-Rise Program®
at the Autism Treatment Center of America has provided
innovative training programs for parents and professionals
caring for children and adults challenged by Autism,
Autism Spectrum Disorders, PDD and other developmental
challenges. The Son-Rise Program teaches a specific
yet comprehensive system of treatment and educational
tools designed to help families and caregivers enable
their children to improve dramatically in all areas
of learning, development, communication and skill acquisition.
It offers parents and professionals highly effective
educational techniques, strategies and principles for
designing, implementing and maintaining a stimulating,
high-energy, one-on-one home based program.
Each year The Son-Rise Program®
conducts a Child Facilitator Training Program for those
seeking a professional career using The
Son-Rise Program®. This training course
is designed to help achieve a mastery of The
Son-Rise Program® techniques combined
with a firm grounding in the attitude of love and acceptance
which is fundamental to this unique approach. We accept
applications throughout the year and invite applicants
who have an understanding of the fundamental attitude
and principles of The Option Process®, along with
a deep commitment and passion to helping families and
their special needs children.
Course Content and Design
It has been our experience that the most powerful way
to train professionals to use The Son-Rise
Program® is through a practical approach
in which we provide students with the experience of
working directly (one-on-one) with children of varying
ages and diagnoses. During the Child Facilitator Training
Program, students work intensively with approximately150
different children representing the Autism spectrum
and many other developmental challenges. This breadth
of experience is rarely found in other special education
training programs. The Autism Treatment Center of America
maintains a commitment to excellence for its staff with
a strong emphasis on personal and professional growth.
Students of the Child Facilitator Training Program
receive individualized and specific guidance from senior
staff trainers of The Son-Rise Program®
for the duration of the training program. Since its
inception in 1974, The Son-Rise Program®
has recognized that facilitating the growth and development
of a child with Autism requires creatively making learning
motivating. We apply this same principle as we train
our staff through this dynamic, fun and stimulating
program. Training classes are highly interactive and
inspiring. The focus of these classes is not only on
skillfully acquiring the highly effective techniques
of The Son-Rise Program®,
but also on each student’s individual attitudinal
development.

Standards And Studentship It is our intention and commitment to
provide the best possible experience, teaching and service
to the families and children who come to The Autism
Treatment Center of America™, as well as to those
in our training programs. We are committed to
delivering our service according to the high standards
of quality and attitude as set forth by the staff
and directorship of The Autism Treatment Center of America™.
Furthermore, we expect each student to adopt for themselves
these same standards of excellence with regard to their
studentship and participation in training.
CERTIFICATION Certification as a Son-Rise
Program® Child Facilitator is attained
when the trainee has completed the 18-month training
program and has satisfied the Autism Treatment Center
of Americas™ criteria for certification.
