| Application Process
1. Complete an “Application
for Admission” and send to:
- The Son-Rise Program®
Professional Training Department

Or email the completed application to: Susan@option.org
2. For application for an apprenticeship position, an
“Application
for Employment” must be sent in addition.
3. All written applications must be received by the
application deadline.
4. An observation of the applicant working with a
child or adult with special needs is also required.
Typically, this is achieved by sending a video recording.
When this is not an option the Professional Training
Department Coordinator will suggest alternatives.
5. After the application deadline, some applicants
will be invited to interview with Son-Rise Program
staff.
6. All applicants will be informed of the admission
board’s decisions within three to four weeks
after the application deadline.
Admittance Requirements
1. An excitement and desire to work with special children.
2. Previous experience working with children with special
needs, either through volunteering in a home-based Son-Rise
Program or in some other setting. (If you wish to locate
a family running a home-based Son-Rise Program in your
local area, please visit the
Message Board at www.autismtreatmentcenter.org)
3. You must be a citizen or legal resident of the United
States, or hold a valid visa to work in the USA for
at least 18-months.
4. It is essential that you have the intention and capability
to participate in the two year duration of your training
program.
5. For apprenticeship-based training, it is essential
that you be accepted by the management of The
Option Institute for a job assignment.
