Due to the rapidly growing number of families seeking our help, and the great demand for professional support for home-based Son-Rise Programs, we are opening Autism Treatment Center of America Regional Centers across the United States and Europe, beginning in New York City. Until now, The Autism Treatment Center of America, located in Sheffield, Massachusetts, has been the only teaching facility in the world offering professional training in The Son-Rise Program methods. The exciting debut of a Regional Center in New York City will provide professionals with local access to accelerated training in The Son-Rise Program in order to provide Son-Rise Program Support Services at the Regional Center for parents in the local area.

The debut of our Son-Rise Program Professional Training course in New York City will be in February 2009. We will be selecting a group of dedicated professionals to join our team of Son-Rise Program Teachers and become the support staff working at The Autism Treatment Center of America Regional Center in New York City.

Son-Rise Program Teacher Certification

The Autism Treatment Center of America Regional Center in New York City will offer an accelerated training program - the opportunity to become a Son-Rise Program Teacher within two years. Incoming applicants will join an elite training class to staff the Regional Center and serve local families in the following ways:

Help Son-Rise Program families design the most effective learning environment for their children.

Supervise the implementation of Son-Rise Program techniques through individualized instruction.

Mentor parents using the Option Process® Dialogue – helping parents change their internal experience to become more effective teachers for their children.

Work one-to-one with children in a Son-Rise Program playroom to demonstrate effective techniques.

Assist families in gathering a team of volunteers to work in the playroom.

Teach families to train their in-home volunteer team to create a powerful home-based learning program.

Mediate family and team dynamics to help each home-based program run as smoothly as possible.

Through highly individualized instruction, video-assisted learning, comprehensive presentations and extensive hands-on experience with children and adults with special needs, you will be participating in a completely unique professional development opportunity. The training curriculum will be administered on site at the Regional Center in New York City, with visits to The Autism Treatment Center of America in Sheffield for further training.

The Son-Rise Program Teacher Training Program emphasizes the personal and professional growth of each student. Our training curriculum first helps you achieve mastery of Son-Rise Program techniques in the playroom and then guides you through intensive self-exploration to achieve impervious professional confidence in order to teach these techniques to parents.
