After working in a very different career and feeling very unsettled and uninspired, I was so happy when I discovered and got involved with The Son-Rise Program in 2006 when I started volunteering with a family in London. I knew I had found the job I had always been looking for and wanted to do it full time. Since then I have volunteered with another family in America and I started my Child Facilitator training in August 2007. The following 18 months were the most fun, challenging, inspiring, powerful months of my life, I loved every second and felt so blessed to be connecting, loving, helping and having so much fun with all the special children and adults that I worked with during that time. In February 2009 I completed training at the Autism Treatment Center of America™ and returned to the UK to complete my internship, working with families all over England. I provide outreaches that are between 1 and 3 days at a time, helping families, and their volunteers, with their Son-Rise Programs which are all completely individual and exciting. I am also involved in helping run all The Son-Rise Programs in London and love being available to help families right from the start of their Son-Rise journey. All in all I have worked with about 120 special children & adults and feel very blessed to have the opportunity to be part of all the amazing Son-Rise Programs around the UK.
Quotes from Son-Rise Program parents
"We absolutely love having Holly here with us for a day. She always arrives full of energy and positivity and is fantastic with Henry. We always learn alot from watching her play with Henry and find talking to her and her explanations and suggestions really useful. It gives us a boost every time she visits and we would no have hesitation in recommending Holly to other families running a son-rise program. Thank you Holly!"

"Holly is everything a Son Rise facilitator should be in her sessions with Finley: enthusiastic, energetic and excited! She is also very empathetic and gives great feedback and suggestions for how to get the most out of Finley in the playroom. Most importantly you can see she is genuinely fond of Finley and he feels comfortable enough after a few minutes into the session to want to connect and play with her."

"Holly is enthusiastic and has a natural energy which she utilizes when working with my son. She is fun and lively and acutely aware of where to 'meet' him and support his development. Kieran felt at ease with her within minutes and was happy to interact with Holly and spent time in the playroom with her. The world would benefit from a few more 'Holly's'"
