PERSONAL STATEMENT

After working in a very different career and feeling very unsettled and uninspired, I was so happy when I discovered and got involved with The Son-Rise Program in 2006 when I started volunteering with a family in London. I knew I had found the job I had always been looking for and wanted to do it full time. Since then I have volunteered with another family in America and I started my Child Facilitator training in August 2007. The following 18 months were the most fun, challenging, inspiring, powerful months of my life, I loved every second and felt so blessed to be connecting, loving, helping and having so much fun with all the special children and adults that I worked with during that time. In February 2009 I completed training at the Autism Treatment Center of America™ and returned to the UK to complete my internship, working with families all over England. I provide outreaches that are between 1 and 3 days at a time, helping families, and their volunteers, with their Son-Rise Programs which are all completely individual and exciting. I am also involved in helping run all The Son-Rise Programs in London and love being available to help families right from the start of their Son-Rise journey. All in all I have worked with about 120 special children & adults and feel very blessed to have the opportunity to be part of all the amazing Son-Rise Programs around the UK.
